Summary
Day 1)Olbia-Olbia - 251km
Today can only start crossing the Costa Smeralda, destination of the international jet set, where a panoramic road overlooking the crystalline sea, yatch and dream villas set in the nature, will make you daydream. You will pass through the tourist areas of Palau and Santa Teresa, where at the foot of the Capo Testa lighthouse you can refresh your spirit while enjoying a good coffee, admiring the Bocche di Bonifacio and the white cliffs of Corsica. Then continue towards Castelsardo, keeping the sea on your right in the coast that runs through the northern part of Sardinia: the mediterranean vegetation and the scent of myrtle berries will be your traveling companion. Once you will arrive in Castelsardo, an ancient village perched high above the sea, we recommend a visit to the castle and a lunch at the restaurant "L'incantu" accompanied by the splendid view that characterizes it. Finally you will leave the sea to return to Olbia, passing by more internal roads where bends and beautiful landscapes will make you discover the nearby sub-region of Gallura, famous for its wild cork woods.
Day 2)Olbia-Olbia - 258km
Today you will enter the center of Sardinia passing through Alà dei Sardi, Buddusò, Bitti and finally Oliena, reaching one of the most important restaurants of the island: surrounded by greenery at the foot of the Gennargentu chain, the restaurant "Su Gologone" will make you experience a unique enogastronomic experience in a historical-cultural and naturalistic context of the highest level. You can also visit the source Su Gologone a few steps from the restaurant. Lunch will be abundant and in the afternoon there is still a long way ahead! You will return to Olbia via the east coast, crossing Orosei and the famous tourist resorts of Cala Liberotto, San Teodoro, Budoni and Porto San Paolo.
Day 3)Olbia-Olbia - 248km
Today you will live an experience rich in history and traditions. You will go west towards Pattada, where you can visit the museum of the famous sardinian knife "La Pattadese". Continue to Burgos, a medieval town characterized by brick houses with a double-sloping roof and narrow, uphill alleys that will lead you to the rock where the homonymous castle stands, in the middle of the forest that takes its name. For lunch you will head for Bitti where Dario, historic innkeeper of the "Su Lithu" restaurant will let you taste the delicacies of this area. In the afternoon you will return to Olbia passing through Monti, crossing km of winegrowing crops for the production of "Vermentino", an excellent Sardinian white wine.
