Costa Verde

Green Coast

We are in the center-west of the island, in the area of Arbus. In this part of the island, although it can be considered, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful mass tourism has never arrived because it is very far and difficult to reach from the three International Airports of Alghero, Olbia and Cagliari as well as from the ports located in the same cities beyond Golfo Aranci and Arbatax; it is not possible to find fast-flowing roads but only dual-directional state roads and curves, many curves that make it uncomfortable for car travelers to reach these areas. All this is obviously less for motor-cyclists like us who make curves and asphalt their "must" to experience the perfect holiday and I assure you that in Sardinia you can truly experience "A perfect holiday".

We walk from this area from North to South, Torre dei Corsari, Portu Maga to arrive at Piscinas, one of Europe's largest natural deserts with crystal clear white sand dunes, a landscape that you would never expect to find here.
If it has not rained recently, through a very simple white road and a small ford you can cross the whole dune area to go further south, towards Ingurtosu, Gennamari Portixeddu, Bugerru.
Even here, it is useless to tell the views of these roads in words, you have to live them, you will arrive in Masua, in front of you a giant cliff, with very white limestone from which it takes the name "Pan di zucchero". We are in Sulcis-Iglesiente, an area that in the past lived on mining.
We recommend a visit to "Porto Flavia", a port, in the broadest sense of the word, which was created by digging a tunnel in the rock to reach the sea; tourist guides will be able to tell you better than I about the particular history of this unique settlement.
