A thousand curves

Today you will venture into the heart of Sardinia, passing through Alà dei Sardi, Buddusò, Bitti, and finally Oliena, reaching one of the island’s most important restaurants: nestled in the greenery at the foot of the Gennargentu mountain range, the restaurant "Su Gologone" will offer you a unique gastronomic experience in a historical, cultural, and natural setting of the highest level. You can also visit the Su Gologone spring just a few steps from the restaurant. The lunch will be hearty, and in the afternoon you still have plenty of road ahead! You will find yourself on the most beautiful stretch of the SS 125 Orientale Sarda, the part that connects Dorgali to Tortolì — the mountains, the Su Gorroppu gorge, and the landscapes of this pristine corner will give you intense emotions.

Today’s day is dedicated to culture and the ancient history of Sardinia. Head south along the SS 125 Orientale Sarda, on the stretch that connects Arbatax to Muravera, then make your way towards the center of the island in the direction of Barumini, where you cannot miss a visit to the Nuragic complex: the largest Nuragic settlement dating back over 4,000 years. In this magical place, the guides will immerse you in the island’s most ancient history and tell you about the lives of Sardinian inhabitants, including their wars, religion, society, and customs. After a quick lunch, return towards Arbatax, passing through a pristine part of Sardinia with a very low population density, where nature and grazing animals are the true hosts.

Today you will cross Sardinia from one side to the other, passing through the most beautiful locations of the Supramonte. You will admire mountain landscapes rich in history and unique food and wine specialties, the ruins of the abandoned town of Gairo, passing through Ulassai, Seulo, Aritzo, and Tonara, where you can stop to taste torrone, a traditional sweet made with almonds, walnuts, and honey. You will still be in the very center of the island and will need to cross the entire Logudoro area to reach the west coast, at Bosa, a renowned fishing village famous for its canal harbor and medieval castle.

Start your day by tackling the Bosa-Alghero coastal road, nominated to become a UNESCO World Heritage site and considered one of the most beautiful roads in the world. These 53 km of curves, running along the stretch of coast that connects the Nurra to the Logudoro, will impress you not only with the quality of the driving route but also with its scents and colors. Upon arrival in Alghero, you cannot miss stopping for a coffee at Riservato Beach Bar, a seaside spot in the city center that will leave you speechless. Continue north towards Stintino, where you can visit the beach “La Pelosa,” rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the world for its crystal-clear water and fine sand. Head east towards Castelsardo, crossing the entire pine forest of Marina di Sorso to reach the panoramic coastal road leading to the medieval village. We recommend visiting the castle and having lunch at the restaurant “L’incantu,” accompanied by the splendid view that characterizes it. In the afternoon, continue east to reach Santa Teresa on a road marked by beautiful panoramas and Mediterranean scrub. For dinner, we can only recommend the restaurant “Eat Sardegna,” where the legendary Mario will have you taste his Sardinian specialties.

Today you will visit the island of La Maddalena. All you need to do is travel the few kilometers that separate you from Palau to catch the ferry that will take you to the island. Here, you can choose to either tour the islands of Caprera and La Maddalena on your motorcycle or dive into the crystal-clear waters of the archipelago. On your return to Olbia, you will pass through the famous Costa Smeralda, a destination for the international jet set, where the panoramic road clings to the crystal-clear sea, and yachts and dreamlike villas nestled in nature will make you daydream with your eyes wide open.
