Olbia
Day 1
Olbia-Tortolì - 221km
Today you will venture into the heart of Sardinia, passing through Ala dei Sardi, Buddusò, Bitti, and finally Oliena, reaching one of the island’s most important restaurants: nestled in greenery at the foot of the Gennargentu mountain range, the Su Gologone restaurant will offer you a unique food and wine experience in a historic, cultural, and natural setting of the highest level. You can also visit the Su Gologone spring just a few steps from the restaurant.
The lunch will be hearty, and in the afternoon, there’s still plenty of road ahead! You will find yourself on the most beautiful stretch of the SS 125 Orientale Sarda, the one that connects Dorgali to Tortolì. The mountains, the Su Gorroppu gorge, and the landscapes of this unspoiled corner of Sardinia will give you strong emotions.
Day 2
Tortolì-Arbatax - 229km
Wild landscapes, forests, panoramas, and lots and lots of curves will be the stars of this beautiful day among the mountains of the Gennargentu. Today’s itinerary will allow you to discover some of the most beautiful places on the island, traveling along roads that seem tailor-made for motorcyclists. Start the tour passing through Tonara, a mountain village known for producing torrone: a typical Sardinian sweet made from a mixture of almonds, walnuts, and honey. Next, reach Aritzo, a village nestled in the woods, which is the chestnut production capital. In the afternoon, continue eastward to return to Arbatax, passing through Gairo Vecchia, a picturesque abandoned village at the foot of a collapsing mountain.
Day 3
Arbatax-Arbatax - 274km
Today’s day is dedicated to culture and the oldest history of Sardinia. Head south along the SS 125 Orientale Sarda stretch that connects Arbatax to Muravera, then venture into the island’s interior towards Barumini, where you simply must visit the Nuragic complex: the largest Nuragic settlement dating back over 4,000 years.
In this magical place, guides will immerse you in the island’s most ancient history and tell you about the lives of Sardinia’s inhabitants, covering wars, religion, society, and customs. After a quick lunch, return to Arbatax passing through a pristine part of Sardinia with a very low population density, where nature and grazing animals are the true rulers of the land.
Day 4
Arbatax-Olbia - 252km
Head north towards Dorgali along the most beautiful stretch of the SS 125 Orientale Sarda, the one that connects Dorgali to Tortolì: the mountains, the Su Gorroppu gorge, and the landscapes of this untouched corner of Sardinia will give you intense emotions.
Cross the tourist towns of San Teodoro, Siniscola, and Budoni until you reach Porto Taverna, where you can have lunch with your feet in the sand at the beautiful "12.1" restaurant, admiring the island of Tavolara.
In the afternoon, head to the Costa Smeralda, a destination for the international jet set, where the panoramic road overlooking the crystal-clear sea, yachts, and dream villas nestled in nature will make you daydream with your eyes wide open.
